First Hawaii Title Corporation's Internet Privacy Policy


First Hawaii Title Corporation is committed to ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of its customers and visitors to the company's web site. As such, First Hawaii Title utilizes industry-standard security measures to safeguard internet transactions and communications. The purpose of this statement is to explain the types of information First Hawaii Title collects about visitors to its website, the manner in which this information is collected and used, with whom and under what circumstances the information is shared.


Special Note About Children
First Hawaii Title does not provide services to children and its web site is not intended for children. First Hawaii Title asks that minors not submit any personal information to First Hawaii Title. If you are a minor, you can use this site or First Hawaii Title's services in conjunction with a parent or guardian.


Non-Personal Information Collection

While First Hawaii Title's web servers may automatically collect visitor domain names, they do not collect nonpublic personal information ("personal information") about visitors. The web servers may gather information about the particulars of a visitor's visit through the First Hawaii Title web site such as the web page from which a visitor enters First Hawaii Title's site, the pages within First Hawaii Title's site visited, how long a visitor is on the site, and other such information that will help First Hawaii Title evaluate and improve its site.


Personal Information Collection
Personal Information, such as social security number, loan amount, or sales price, is collected only when visitors voluntarily provide them through the company's website in order to obtain our escrow and/or title services. First Hawaii Title limits its use of such information to the purposes for which the information was provided.


Internal Disclosure of Informatio
n
First Hawaii Title employees are permitted access to the information they require to perform their jobs and service customers. First Hawaii Title maintains strict internal policies against the unauthorized disclosure or use of the customer's personal information. First Hawaii Title has affiliates with which it may share personal information as permitted by law.


Third Party Disclosure of Information
First Hawaii Title does not sell or disclose personal  information obtained on-line from visitors through the company web site to anyone outside of First Hawaii Title and its affiliated companies unless (i) it is necessary to process the order or request for its services; (ii) specifically authorized by a visitor; (iii) as permitted by law including disclosure necessary to protect the safety of First Hawaii Title customers, employees, or property.


Unsolicited E-mail
First Hawaii Title does not send unsolicited "junk" e-mail (spam). However, the company does use e-mail to communicate with customers and respond to visitor inquiries, confirm orders placed online, and send information requested by visitors through the company's web site. Any visitors receiving unwanted e-mail from First Hawaii Title should contact the company and advise of their desire not to receive future e-mails and/or request removal from First Hawaii Title's e-mail list. As soon as reasonably practicable, First Hawaii Title will remove such visitor from the company's e-mail list.


Cookies
First Hawaii Title's web sites may use "cookies" to improve the level of service to visitors. Cookies are lines of text that are transmitted to a web browser and stored on the visitor's hard drive. When the visitor returns to the First Hawaii Title web site the cookie is transmitted back. Cookies provide a way for a server to recall a previous request or registration, or to keep track of a transaction as it progresses thereby eliminating the need to repeat the information previously provided. A cookie can only be accessed from the web site that placed it on the visitor's system. The cookies used by First Hawaii Title do not collect personal  information and First Hawaii Title does not combine information collected through cookies with other personal information to determine a visitor's identity or e-mail address. Cookies are commonly used on web sites today and should not harm any system upon which they are transmitted. Browsers can be configured to notified visitors when cookies are about to be received and provide visitors with the option of refusing cookies.


Future Privacy Policy Modifications
First Hawaii Title is continually trying to improve the services it provides customers and the experiences of visitors to the company's web site. As such, First Hawaii Title may expand its capabilities for obtaining information about visitors in the future. Thus, First Hawaii Title reserves the right to revise its Privacy Policy as required by advances in technology or other changes in the collection of information through the internet.
